Hi everyone,
I’ve been invited to join a humanitarian deployment to Syria, where I’ll be helping pack and distribute food parcels to families who are struggling to meet their most basic needs.
Each parcel costs £40 and contains essentials like rice, flour, oil, pasta, and beans - enough to feed a family for around a month. I’m hoping to raise £5,000, which would allow me to distribute 125 parcels. The charity I’m working with has a 100% donation policy, so all donations go directly to the people receiving the aid.
I’ll be joining a wider team of volunteers, and together we aim to distribute around 1,500 parcels. This is about standing in solidarity, offering care, and recognising our shared humanity. I see this as a blessing to serve others, and to learn from their resilience and strength. I’m grateful for the chance to be part of this effort.
We’ll be working near Aleppo, where many families are living in extremely difficult conditions. Some are surviving in damaged or unfinished buildings, while others are living in temporary tents. Electricity, heating, and clean water are often unreliable, food is scarce, and prices continue to rise. Many parents are forced to make impossible choices just to keep their children fed.
Due to the current security situation - including recent United States airstrikes - large parts of the region have been left in a critical and unstable condition. These strikes have added to years of destruction, damaging homes, roads, and essential services, and forcing already vulnerable families into further displacement, fear, and uncertainty. For many civilians, access to food, medical care, and humanitarian aid has been severely affected. The earliest possible time the deployment can take place is July 2026, in sha Allah, once conditions allow access.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you’re able to offer. Your generosity will help provide food to families who need it most.
May Allah reward you for your kindness. (Zakat applicable, as per SKT)
Our 100% Donation Policy means that every penny you donate is used in the delivery of humanitarian projects and directly related costs. Indirect and administrative costs are covered by either direct donations themselves or by using Gift Aid.
