By Khadija – in partnership with SKT Welfare
My name is Khadija, and I’m working with SKT Welfare to raise funds for an urgently needed community kitchen for refugees in South Sudan. The people there are facing unimaginable hardship — hunger, disease, and displacement due to ongoing conflict. Many families are going days without a proper meal.
With your help, I want to change that.
This kitchen isn’t a restaurant or a large facility — it’s a simple, practical setup designed to prepare and distribute hot meals to those who need them most. With your support, we’ll be able to buy basic equipment like cookers, pots, utensils, and other essentials. To keep costs down, we may rent a small space to store items and use it — or an adjacent outdoor area — for cooking.
This kitchen will not be a one-off effort. Once it’s up and running, it will continue serving the community on a long-term basis, providing daily meals for vulnerable families.
South Sudan is in crisis. Over half the population is facing extreme hunger. Refugees live in overcrowded shelters with poor sanitation, and diseases like cholera and measles are spreading quickly. Families are doing their best to survive with almost nothing.
I’ve seen how kitchens like this have made a difference in other places, including Gaza and parts of Sudan. With your support, we can replicate that success and bring some relief to those suffering.
This kitchen project is Zakat eligible — so if you’re looking for a way to give your Zakat meaningfully this year, this is an opportunity to help feed people directly.
We can’t begin building the kitchen until the full amount is raised. Every donation — no matter the size — takes us one step closer to making this kitchen a reality.
Please help me reach this goal. Together, we can provide warmth, nourishment, and hope to those who desperately need it.
May Almighty accept your efforts aameen
