In the name of Allah with whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing and All-Knowing.

This Ramadan, I shall be raising funds for SKT Welfare to help those suffering in Palestine. As an Ummah we should be helping our brothers and sisters who are constantly being tortured on a daily basis and the reason I have chosen to do this with SKT is because I really care about the great work they’re doing to alleviate poverty and suffering around the globe.

The media have stopped talking about the Palestinian people but, that does not mean we have. Last year for 15 long, cold and terrifying nights Palestinians faced endless bombing whilst it was dark. During this mass destruction the latest escalation killed 278 people in Gaza, and injured over 9,000. Over 77,000 people had to flee their homes and around 30 clinics and hospitals were damaged, and Gaza’s only COVID-19 test centre was destroyed. Nearly a year later and Gaza is still in a state of emergency. The coronavirus pandemic, coupled with violence and decades of political instability, have stifled economic development across Palestine and made difficult situations even worse. 

During the holy month of Ramadan, I ask you to please make a donation of any size to help our Muslim brothers and sisters who are constantly being brutally attacked. Allah The Most Glorified , The Most High says in the Quran (2:274) “Those who spend their wealth by night and by day, secretly and publicly, will find that their reward is secure with their Lord and that there is no reason for them to entertain any fear or grief”. On top of this SubhanAllah, Allah also says “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed which grows seven spikes, in each spike is a hundred grains. Allah multiplies His reward for whom He wills, for Allah is vast and knowing”. Surat Al-Baqarah 2:261
