At 1,345m, Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the UK and reaching the summit through rocky and rough track is definitely no walk in the park! On 7th August, we will be taking on the Ben, a trek of around 8 hours both ways, to raise vital funds to help the people of Palestine who need our support now more than ever.
Neither of us have tried our luck at hiking before, so this will be a real challenge of stamina and strength (especially as we're both petite, neither of us with the longest of legs to help carry us up!).
We will be facing the elements as we make our way up, with conditions at the top often very different to those at the bottom. Even in summer months, the summit can be cold, wet, windy and covered in snow.
Our Palestinian brothers and sisters are once again facing the most unthinkable violence. More than 90,000 people in Gaza have been displaced and are in urgent need of support, with numbers thought to rise even further. At least 232 Palestinians, including 65 children, have been killed in the 11 days of the most recent violence.
80% of the population rely on aid to simply survive. Palestinians face violence when they step out of their house, so with restricted movement people are struggling to find food to feed their families.
£50 could provide nutritious food packs that will feed 1 family for over a month, so please give what you can as every penny truly will make a difference. With SKT Welfare's 100% donation policy, you can rest assured that every penny of your donation will go directly to those who need it most.
Thank you so much for your support, every donation will spur us along even further in a cause that is very close to our hearts. We will be sure to share our training and hiking updates as we go along!
