Hi all - as you are aware I have been training for my first Marathon since November 2019 which was first meant to take place in April 2020. When we hit the pandemic, I did not want to quit so my training has kept going and still going strong in readiness for the new proposed date of 10th of Oct 2021!! I can say it is the longest training I have ever done for any event haha! And so I like to make the event more memorable by raising funds for one of the charities that supports different causes around the world. In this instance the focus of the fundraising through SKT Welfare is for Palestine. Here I am putting politics aside and focusing on the people impacted... Having been born in a country (Iran) where we had wars in the past and many homes destroyed and lives lost, this is something I can relate to and understand, and close to my heart. Which follows my request for your support please whatever you can afford to contribute towards this cause and it will be well received. And guess what?! The money will be matched by my employer, thank you Barclays :)

Fundraising money will go towards:

One of the projects in Palestine to provide the community with clean and accessible water (97% of the water is undrinkable). This facility is open to the whole community regardless of religious denomination or affiliation. The community will not be encouraged  to take part in religious worship activities, learn or adhere to, or convert to religious beliefs of this charity.  This charity has been on the ground in Palestine for many years, thus have 2 water desalination plants in Gaza meaning £85 can provide 70,000 litres of safe, clean drinking water in Gaza for 1 day. The facilities are open to the whole community and are accessible to the wider public.
