One in every five children around the world is out of school. They’re missing out on their education, missing out on the start they need to succeed in this world. Without an education, many of these children will continue to live in poverty for the rest of their lives.
Education offers children the knowledge and skills they need to become the leaders of tomorrow and flourish in the world around them. To help give poor children more access to education, SKT Welfare has set up a school in Turkey to help young Syrian refugees learn the skills they need for a brighter future.
Our school, the Abdullah bin Abbas Institute, offers a comprehensive curriculum, teaching core subjects as well as Arabic, Turkish and Arabic calligraphy.

Learning the Qur’an not only brings children closer to Allah (swt) but it also gives them a better understanding of the Islamic faith and guides them in growing up to be moral and devout Muslims. Helping a child on their educational journey with the Qur’an is a special form of charity, one that Allah (swt) smiles fondly upon.
Our Qur’an School project is helping children of all ages memorise the Qur’an and grow in their faith. We have had over 500 Hafiz students enrolled in this programme, learning to recite the Holy Quran in Turkey, and with your support we can teach even more children the joys of the Qur’an.
