“For every hair of the Qurbani you receive a reward from Allah (SWT)” - [Tirmidhi]
‘The Prophet (ﷺ) sacrificed for the one who could not sacrifice from his ummah, one who bore witness to the Oneness of Allah and [his] Prophethood’ (Tabarani and Ahmad)
At SKT Welfare, we invite you to revive this beautiful sunnah.
Over the last 3 years over 1 million people received Qurbani meat as part of your small sacrifice. This year, we know that Qurbani is needed more than ever. You can give your Qurbani to those most in need and those in need in Yemen, Pakistan, Syria, Gaza, Tanzania, kenya and Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
Your Qurbani goes further than just the families who receive the meat. We source all meat locally and employ staff to ensure the sacrifice and distribution is done to the highest standards. In this way, we create jobs and boost the local economy. We also donate all animal skins to local educational institutions who then sell them and use the funds to educate vulnerable children.
We take the utmost care to strictly follow Sharia in order to procure the meat for Qurbani by ensuring:
• A healthy animal is sacrificed
• The animal is older than one year in age
• The meat is of a good quality that has not been stunned in the slaughter process and is safe for human consumption.
• The Qurbani is performed after Eid prayer
Our fresh Qurbani meat is distributed on the same day to the people in need and the quantity of meat is sufficient for a family of five.
“Once our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was asked, what is Qurbani? The Prophet (SAW) answered: ‘It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim (AS). For every hair of the Qurbani you receive a reward from Allah (SWT)” - Tirmidhi
Qurbani is a religious sacrifice of sheep, cattle, goats or camels which is made after Eid al Adha prayers, between the 10th and 12th days of Dhul Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic calendar. The blessed tradition was passed down to us by our Prophet Ibrahim (as) and Ismail (as) reflecting on their ultimate devotion to Allah (swt) and the sacrifices they were willing to make.
