In February 2026, SKT Welfare proudly reached an important milestone by delivering 100 wheelchairs to individuals in need across Pakistan. This achievement represents more than just a number—it reflects the collective effort of donors, volunteers, and community partners who believe that mobility is a basic human need and a powerful tool for independence.
Across many parts of Pakistan, thousands of individuals live with physical disabilities that limit their ability to move freely. For many families, purchasing a wheelchair is financially out of reach, leaving loved ones confined to their homes and dependent on others for even the simplest daily tasks. This lack of mobility often results in missed opportunities for education, employment, healthcare access, and social participation. Over time, these limitations can lead to isolation, loss of confidence, and reduced quality of life.
The SKT Wheelchair Project was created to address this challenge by ensuring that people who need mobility support are not left behind. Through this initiative, SKT identifies individuals who are most in need—often from underserved and low-income communities—and provides them with durable, reliable wheelchairs that can significantly improve their daily lives.
Receiving a wheelchair can be a life-changing moment. It enables individuals to move independently, attend school, seek employment, participate in family activities, and reconnect with their communities. For children, it opens the door to education and friendships. For adults, it offers the possibility of returning to work and supporting their families. For elderly individuals, it restores dignity and the ability to maintain a sense of autonomy.
Beyond providing equipment, the project focuses on building strong partnerships with local communities, healthcare workers, and volunteers to ensure that wheelchairs are delivered responsibly and reach those who need them most. Each delivery is carefully coordinated to ensure the recipient receives a wheelchair suited to their needs, allowing them to use it comfortably and safely.
The success of the first 100 wheelchairs delivered in February 2026 is only the beginning. SKT’s vision is to expand the project across more regions of Pakistan, reaching many more individuals who are currently living without proper mobility support. With continued support from donors and community partners, the project aims to scale its impact and transform even more lives.
Every wheelchair provided represents freedom, opportunity, and hope. It empowers individuals to participate fully in society and reminds families that they are not alone in their challenges. Through compassion, collaboration, and commitment, the SKT Wheelchair Project is helping build a future where mobility, dignity, and inclusion are accessible to everyone.
