Deadly Wildfires Devastate Shaam’s Latakia Region – Act Now to Help!
The Crisis
Raging wildfires have engulfed the forests and hills of Latakia, Shaam, leaving behind a trail of destruction. Entire villages are blanketed in smoke, families have been forced to flee their homes, and communities already struggling from years of conflict are now facing yet another disaster.
The fires, fuelled by extreme heat and strong winds, have rapidly spread across northern Latakia with Qastal Ma'af, Kessab, Jabal al-Turkman, Zanzaf, and Rabi’a among the worst affected areas. Emergency services are overwhelmed. The rough terrain, lack of resources has made firefighting efforts extremely dangerous and difficult.
Homes destroyed. Forests burning. Families displaced. Lives at risk.
They Need Us More Than Ever
After over a decade of war, the Shaami people have endured unimaginable hardship. This latest disaster has struck at a time when they are least prepared. As the flames continue to rage, vulnerable families are in urgent need of assistance in extinguishing fire and emergency food.
