In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Establishing the FIRST EVER cancer diagnosis and triage centre in the whole of the government funded public sector in Rawalpindi.
We are aiming to raise £25,700 ($32,250) to set up a cancer diagnosis and triage centre in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
The fact there isn't one yet in the government funded public sector hospitals in a city of 2 million is shocking and it’s time we all got together to make a change.
Your help will go towards setting up two dedicated wards at Holy Family Hospital, to procure vital diagnostic equipment and hiring essential staff to run the wards.
This is a long overdue service and it cannot be achieved without first Allah's aid and your generous assistance.
Seize this opportunity to save and extend countless lives in the heart of Pakistan!
Donors who contribute £5000 or more will have a plaque in their or their loved one's name in the hospital.
Until the centre is up and running seeing and triaging patients we cannot accept Zakat. Please donate your sadaqa only for now.
And all Praise belongs to Allah Lord of all the worlds.
UPDATE JULY 2025
The clinic has been functional in triaging and diagnosing patients for well over 2 years now. It has registered in excess of 750 patients.
The vast majority of patients unfortunately do have cancer and present late stage. Ovarian Cancer in middle-aged to elderly women is by far the most commonly observed cancer.
Since inception, the clinic has undergone a revamp as part of the wider hospital renovation. It continues to employ a ward doctor, a ward administrator and 2 nurses.
The ward doctor and administrator are being supported by this fundraiser campaign. Your continued generous donations and duas are needed to support them in running this clinic. As it stands the fundraiser has enough money to support the doctor and clerk till the end of next calendar year. We requi further funds to keep them employed as they are the engine of the clinic. Do donate whatever you can spare.
In addition to the above, a Multidisciplinary team (MDT) room with Audiovisual equipment has been set up in the gastroenterology department with funding from UK and US well-wishers. This serves a vital purpose of discussing cancer cases with specialist hospitals that can provide the necessary chemotherapy and surgery required.
Speaking of chemotherapy, the hospital is now administering oral chemotherapy for patients with blood cancer, and your donations are supporting the needy to get access to such vital life-saving and extending therapy.
Many patients who are registered with the clinic struggle to pay for their basic first-line investigations such as blood tests and scans. There is a separate patient support fund that has been set up to aid patients in timely investigations and is even assisting patients with their transport and treatment needs. If you wish to support this separate fund please do get in touch with Usman Sheikh, Dr Sohail Aman or the team at SKT. We are able to take Zakat funds now that the clinic has been established for a long period.
The clinic is in the process of hiring a Consultant Oncologist who can develop the Clinic into a fully fledged Oncology department and not simply a triage centre. Shortages of specialist staff make this a challenging goal, but we are committed to recruiting the most senior staff to take this project forward.
Given the high prevalence of gynaecological cancers we are witnessing, funds from supporters here and in America have been used to develop a new colposcopy suite. Vital investigations have been going on for some time, and the gynaecology department is most grateful.
The gynaecology department is also in receipt of a high quality ultrasound machine which is used regularly. Again, this was made possible through your generous donations.
The clinic is aware of the need to promote doctor and patient education and to this end seminars for students have been organised and patient information leaflets created and disseminated. We have received positive feedback for both.
If you have read this far we appreciate your continued duas and material support. We ask The Almighty to make it a continued means of reward for Tahseen Sheikh and all who have helped the project run in her name.
Sincerely
Usman Sheikh

230 Patients triaged since OPD opened in August 22.
Up to half of them have been found to have cancer.
Wait times for diagnosis have come down from months to weeks and even days.
Some 70% of these cancer patients have been treated in-house or referred to a tertiary specialist cancer hospital nearby.
The OPD supports zakat eligible patients with funding for investigations if needed. Get in touch if you wish to give your Zakat separately.
As of April 2023 the Oncology department has received assurances that in patient beds will be provided to support and facilitate work up for those patients who travel from far and remote desinations.
The OPD has acquired the necessary equipment to establish MDTs with the local tertiary cancer centre in Islamabad.
The next goal for the Oncology department is to set up a Chemotherapy Day Unit centre at Holy Family Hospital.
Thank you for your continued support!
May Allah expand and strengthen this initiative and make it blossom. Amin
Usman beta,

May Allah swt grant highest place in Jannat ul Firdous to our all loved ones. Ameen
The Holy Family Hospital Oncology Department has been up and running for the past 8 months.
In that time it has assessed and triaged some 200 patients. Around half of these patients have diagnosed with cancer and have subsequently been treated in-house surgically or in a tertiary centre in Islamabad. Here they receive specialist chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The out-patient department since its creation has been assessing patients in a matter of days and weeks - down from the many months it would have normally taken to see such patients suspected of cancer.
This has meant many patients have been diagnosed early. Their chances of being cured have significantly increased as a result.
Your donations and support can ensure the continued running of the department to ensure more patients are correctly diagnosed and triaged and more lives saved Inshallah.
Thank you
Usman
