Assalamu alaikum,

This year I am raising funds with SKT Welfare to support communities in Syria - after 10 horrific years of war throughout the country, the lives of the Syrian citizens have become devastated following the impact of constant destruction. The truth has only been revealed to the public now and the scenes are devastating. The aftermath of the war has left families torn apart, many suffering from mental anguish from lack of support, and the entire country in a state of uncertainty. Over 12 million people do not have access to nutritious food, and over 6 million people are displaced. However, SKT welfare are doing amazing work to alleviate poverty and suffering around the globe, including in Syria. They have begun distributing baked goods to thousands of refugees everyday, and in 2014 SKT welfare built a hospital dedicated to providing quality medical care to 13 towns and 110 villages in the surrounding areas including Idlib. 

As someone who works in healthcare, I whole-heartedly support providing aid to vulnerable people, which is why I am dedicated to joining SKT welfare in the amazing work that they do.

Inshallah this year I'm hoping to travel to Syria with the SKT welfare team to distribute aid to and support the families, including food parcels containing all the essentials.
