Project Description
| THE PROBLEM Upper Sindh is one of Pakistan's most food-insecure regions. Rural poverty rates exceed 40% and thousands of families live in chronic vulnerability — still recovering from the catastrophic 2022 floods that devastated millions of lives. For these families, Eid ul Adha — the festival of sacrifice — passes without celebration, without meat, and without dignity. OUR SOLUTION WDSWO's Share The Blessings Qurbani Campaign 2026 directly addresses this gap. We procure 125 quality-assured bulls and distribute fresh 3kg meat packages to 4,583 verified vulnerable families across Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad districts — on the three valid days of Eid ul Adha. OUR APPROACH Beneficiary identification is conducted through our 300+ volunteer network using strict vulnerability criteria. Community verification sessions ensure transparency and prevent duplication. Day 1 prioritizes widows, persons with disabilities, and elderly-headed households. Each animal is certified by a Government Veterinary Officer and slaughtered by a licensed Qazi for Halal compliance. Meat is packed and distributed same-day ensuring maximum freshness. OUR TRACK RECORD WDSWO has implemented Qurbani distributions for four consecutive years — 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 — reaching over 8,000 families with fresh meat. Our 2025 campaign alone served 4,700-5,000 families across 5 districts with a budget of PKR 26.9 million. We have managed programmes up to PKR 26.9 million in a single cycle. WHY YOUR DONATION MATTERS Your donation of USD 60 provides one Qurbani share feeding 8-10 families. USD 540 funds a full bull feeding 60-80 families. Every dollar reaches real families in real need — directly, transparently, and with full documentation. |
