Bismillah — In the name of God.
This December, our family is embarking on a mission that has been a long time in the making.
From December 20th–26th, my sister, my brother-in-law, and I will be deploying to Jordan with SKT Welfare. Our goal is to hand-deliver emergency food parcels and hygiene kits to Syrian and Palestinian refugee families.
A Family Calling This journey holds a deep significance for us. For my sister and brother-in-law, this year marks their 10th wedding anniversary. Instead of a traditional celebration, they felt called to give back. For me, my philosophy is that life is short—we must make a difference when the opportunity is presented to us. I believe there is something uniquely meaningful about hands-on aid; being there in person to pack the boxes, cook the meals, and look into the eyes of the people we are helping.
The Sacrifice We know this won't be easy. For my sister and brother-in-law, leaving their three young children for six days will be incredibly hard, and they know they’ll be leaving a piece of their hearts behind at home. But we are certain we’ll also leave another piece of our hearts in Jordan—and return to the UK changed by the experience.
Warmth in the Winter While we usually celebrate the festive period in the safety of our homes, we are choosing to spend this time with those who have very little. We will be hand-assembling food and hygiene kits, cooking dinners for families, and bringing a moment of joy to orphans with a day at a soft-play center.
The 100% Promise We are all covering our own travel and accommodation costs. Because SKT Welfare operates a 100% donation policy, every single penny you donate goes directly to the aid.
£40 provides a food parcel to sustain a family of five for weeks.
£20 provides an essential hygiene kit.
Please donate whatever you can. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help provide vital support to families who need it most.
Please keep our family in your du’as.
With appreciation and prayers,
Armna, Sabba and Zakir
Our 100% Donation Policy means that every penny you donate is used in the delivery of humanitarian projects and directly related costs. Indirect and administrative costs are covered by either direct donations themselves or by using Gift Aid.
