I’m raising funds for SKT Welfare because of the work they’re doing to alleviate poverty and suffering around the globe.

Inshallah I will be going to Bangladesh to hand out your donations in person.

SKT work with marginalised and vulnerable communities including with orphans and widows to help them build better futures. With their 100% donation policy, you can rest assured that every penny of your donation will go directly to those who need it most.

An example of where the money will be used:

A food pack costs £50 which will feed a family of 5 for a whole month. It will include essential items such as rice, oats, oil, sugar, salt, spices etc.

The Rohingya Muslims have been discriminated against for years, with the UN describing them as “one of the most persecuted minorities in the world”. In late 2016, the Myanmar government began a series of violent attacks on the Rohingya, killing an estimate of 24,000 people.

Their largest exodus began in August 2017 after a massive wave of violence broke out in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, forcing more than 700,000 people - half of them children - to seek refuge in Bangladesh. Entire villages were burned to the ground, thousands of families were killed or separated and massive human rights violations were reported.

Most of the Rohingya Muslims fled to Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh, making it the largest refugee camp in the world, and one of the fastest growing humanitarian crises of our time.

Nearly 1 million of the Muslim minority from Myanmar live in cramped and squalid conditions at the camps in the Cox’s Bazar district, with many fleeing a military crackdown in their homeland. Our teams are on the ground assessing the need and aim to deliver shelter, food and clothes to those who have been affected.
