Hi you lot, 

It’s about that time of year where the existential dread kicks in and instead of dyeing my hair a colour I’ll regret, I’ve decided to put my effort towards raising funds for a food deployment in Reyhanli, Turkey.

When there’s so much going on in the world, it can be hard to connect to someones mission, but let me try to share a little bit about where your money will be going… 

There are 13.5 million displaced Syrian people right now.

6.5 million are refugees and Turkey is struggling to host over half of these people right now. 

This deployment will spend all raised funds on food parcels which I will pack myself and distribute in a number of places over the period of a week.  

One of these places will be the Springs of Hope Orphanage ✨

Not only do they ensure Syrian orphans are safe, cared for and have access to the best quality education and healthcare, but families are kept together ensuring siblings grow up together under the loving support of their own mother. They also offer robust psycho-social support to help get both children and parents back on their feet after dealing with their home being ravaged by war.

And although I’ve set a target for £2,000 if I can raise more, it means more food packs available for people who need them coming towards the end of a tough winter.
