In loving memory of our beloved dad, Bozlu Miah, we are raising funds to help build a much-needed Masjid in Uganda. He passed away peacefully on 21/04/26, we want to honour and remember the incredible man who was truly the heart of our family — a loving husband, caring father, and someone who dedicated his life to helping and supporting those around him. He was the person everyone turned to for comfort, advice, and strength. No matter what he was going through himself, he always made sure his family and others were okay first. His kindness, generosity, and presence touched so many people’s lives, and the love people have shown for him is a reflection of the beautiful person he was.

For 5 years, our dad battled cancer with incredible strength, patience, and tawakkul. SubhanAllah, he carried himself so well that most people would never even realise he was unwell. He continued smiling, caring for others, and being present for his family despite everything he was facing.

Towards the end of December, his illness suddenly took a turn as the cancer spread to his brain, and over the following 4 months we watched our beloved dad battle with incredible strength and patience. We witnessed so many painful changes — seeing his personality slowly fade, and watching his physical health decline so severely that eventually he was unable to speak or swallow before he left this dunya. Despite everything he endured, and despite doctors losing hope on many occasions, our dad continued to fight with courage, resilience, and faith until his very last breath.

Even in his final moments, Allah blessed us with a huge source of comfort. Our dad left this dunya so peacefully, with the most beautiful smile on his face and an instant glow throughout his body. It brought us so much peace and reassurance in such a painful moment, and we pray it was a sign of Allah’s mercy and love upon him.

Allah tests those whom He loves most, and we pray every hardship and pain he endured becomes a means of raising his ranks and granting him the highest levels of Jannah.

Our dad was truly the backbone of our family — our protector, our comfort, our safe place. His loss has left a pain in our hearts that words cannot describe. He was deeply loved not only by his family, but by everyone who knew him.

He also had a beautiful heart for charity and was always involved in helping others wherever he could. In honour of him, we would love to continue that legacy by building a masjid on his behalf as an ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah for him, In Sha Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”
Sahih al-Bukhari

We pray that every prayer made in this masjid, every Qur’an recited, every sajdah performed, and every person who benefits from it becomes a source of endless reward for our dad in his grave and in the Hereafter.

We have decided to build this masjid in Uganda, where there is a great need for support within Muslim communities. Many villages are struggling with poverty and lack of resources, and sadly there are Christian missionaries providing aid while questioning the local Muslims with, “Where are your Muslim helpers?” We want this project to be a means of support, unity, and mercy for the community, and a way to continue the charitable legacy our dad always carried in his heart.

This fundraiser will help towards building the masjid, creating a madrasah for the younger children to learn Qur’an and Islam, and also helping provide a water well for those in need, In Sha Allah. We pray every single person who benefits from this becomes a source of reward for our beloved dad for years to come.

Losing our dad has shattered our hearts in ways we never imagined possible. The emptiness he has left behind is felt every single day by everyone who loved him. We ask you all sincerely to keep him in your duas, pray for his forgiveness and elevation in Jannah, and if you are able to donate — no matter how small — may Allah reward you immensely and allow this to weigh heavily on your scales too.
