Pakistan fire emergency 

As many as nine persons including eight children and women died in a fire incident that took place in Faiz Mohammed Village near Mahar Town of Dadu District. The village of about 120 homes was destroyed in the fire.

The fire broke out in Faiz Muhammad Chandio Goth, some 25km away from Mahar Town. The villagers said that no fire engines were available to reach the spot and douse the flames.

SKT Welfare has a team on the ground under taking a critical assessment of the need. SKT Welfare will start rebuilding homes and provide much needed aid to those affected including livestock.

Shafqat Hussain, a local resident of Mahar Town said that no help reached the village till Tuesday evening. The villagers said that the fire broke out at 11:30pm on Monday and lasted until 9:00am on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed deep grief over the deaths of innocent villagers. He directed the district administration for stepping up the rescue operation and provide medical facility to the injured. He further asked the administration to shift the victims to the safest place. The Chief Minister said that he must be updated on every single development pertaining to the rescue operation. (credit: The Express Tribune, April 20th, 2022)
