Since 2011, millions of Syrian refugees have been forced from their homeland because of violent conflict. They have fled to Turkey in search of safety, many of them with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
These Syrians, now in a new country, have little choice but to live in poverty due to lack of job opportunities, with 64% of households living on or below the poverty line. These people have escaped the conflict in Syria, only to be met with uncertainty and squalor.
Turkey is home to the largest number of refugees in the world and as a result, struggles to cope with the sheer number of people in need of aid. To help ease Syrian suffering, SKT Welfare has teams on the ground in Turkey delivering hunger relief to families in the Hatay province, near the Syrian border.
We deliver food packs to families living in abject poverty throughout towns and refugee camps in the area. Each food pack has been carefully crafted to meet the nutrition needs of the displaced Syrian families in Turkey and will cover their basic food requirements for an entire month.
