We are committed to transparency, integrity, and protecting the trust you place in us. This page explains how we manage your donations and fund our operations.
Our 100% donation policy means that every penny you donate is used for serving those in need, not administrative nor overhead costs; which are either covered by direct donations themselves or by using Gift Aid.
This unique policy sets us apart from most international NGO’s and is the guiding principle of the organisation. Our work is carried out by experienced, committed volunteers and is overseen by trustees with professional, management and charity sector experience. None of our work is outsourced to other agencies, preventing possible conflicts of interest, and the charity takes complete ownership for delivering aid and fulfilling projects with absolute transparency and integrity.
We aim to do good - nothing more, nothing less. That means using your hard-earned money in the best possible ways, to make a change and save lives across the world.
This is why we have a 100% donation policy;
100% Zakat
100% Sadaqah
100% Lillah
100% TRUST!
To cover our admin costs, we use Gift Aid, money received from institutional donors for admin purposes (home and abroad) or direct donations from people like yourself.
What Our 100% Donation Policy Means
When you donate to a specific project, 100% of your donation that we receive goes directly to delivering that project and/or towards raising funds to support that project and/or other SKT WELFARE projects. This means your contribution is used solely for:
If we have excess funds for a project, or if a project cannot continue for any reason, we may spend those donations for other purposes. This is explained in the summary for each project on our website.
How We Categorise Our Costs
We divide our expenditure into three categories:
• Project Costs – Direct costs of procurement and delivering aid to beneficiaries
• Fundraising Costs – The costs of donor engagement and raising funds
• Administration Costs – Essential expenses other than Project Costs and Fundraising Costs, for example, the costs of governance, financial management, and regulatory compliance
Your donation may be subject to merchant/banking fees. Our 100% donation policy is based on the net amount we receive after these fees are applied. This is the amount we allocate to the above expenditure categories.
How We Fund Administration Costs
Operating a charity responsibly requires essential administrative functions, including governance, financial management, and regulatory compliance. We fund these costs through:
This approach ensures we can operate effectively and remain sustainable while honouring our 100% donation commitment, as explained above, to our donors..
Our Trustee Responsibilities
Our trustees are responsible for ensuring that:
Our 100% Donation Policy means that every penny you donate is used in the delivery of humanitarian projects and directly related costs. Indirect and administrative costs are covered by either direct donations themselves or by using Gift Aid.
