Afghanistan is standing into a humanitarian crisis , thousands of Afghans are living in tents across the capital after 700,000 Afghans were forced to flee their homes last summer during the fighting situation. Now these people are living without food, healthcare or hope . Since the Taliban took over the country's banking system foreign aid is effectively frozen and countries are not providing much aid at all.
Half of the population (around 18 million people) are dependent on foreign aid, and that number might grow. To feed hungry mouths, people are reliant on handouts. While people continue to flee, many of the people left behind are facing a desperate situation. The UN says more than half a million have been internally displaced this year and millions are now at risk of starvation.
The UN reported more than half of the country is facing hunger and the crisis deepens as food prices have risen dramatically leading to an increase in Afghans struggling to feed themselves and their family . International organisations are now starting to provide aid, however much more is needed to avert catastrophe for millions of vulnerable Afghans.
Ramadan is the most wonderful time of the year, full of countless reward, blessings, mercy, togetherness and forgiveness. It is the perfect time for us to come together, give thanks to Allah (s.w.t) and give to those in need.
Please donate and help the poor and needy who are suffering out there.
