Many Syrian refugee children struggle to access an education in Turkey because of poverty or language barriers. Children drop out because they can’t understand the lessons, teens stop going to class in favour of working to support their families, and many other children don’t have the money for textbooks or supplies.
Our school, the Abdullah bin Abbas Institute, was founded in order to help Syrian children have better access to the education they need for bright, successful futures. We provide children of all ages with a full Islamic education, as well as a range of other important classes. We offer a comprehensive curriculum, teaching core subjects as well as Arabic, Turkish and Arabic calligraphy.
Currently we have 500 students enrolled at the Abdullah bin Abbas Institute, and each of these students are taught for 15 hours a week by fully qualified teachers. All of our staff are dedicated to making sure their students are keeping up with their studies and have a full understanding of the material they are learning.
You can support a child’s education at the Abdullah bin Abbas Institute with a donation of £786 for a full 3 year education. Donate today to ensure that the right to an education is given to every Syrian refugee.
In addition to our comprehensive curriculum at the Abdullah bin Abbas Institute, our Qur’an School project is helping children of all ages memorise the Qur’an and grow strong in their faith. We have 500 Hafiz Syrian students enrolled in this programme, all of them beautifully learning to recite the Holy Quran.
Help us continue to bring the joy of the Qur’an to Syrian refugees by making a small donation of £10 a month. Your donations will support a child through their Qur’anic education, helping them become a Hafiz and leading them on a blessed path.
Our SKT Welfare volunteers work tirelessly on the ground in Cox’s Bazar, delivering food parcels to vulnerable refugee families. Each parcel comprises nutritious, essential items.
